Notes: Adare Manor was formerly a neo-Gothic mansion with its principal rooms open to the public. It is now a luxury hotel. In the grounds are the extensive ruins of Desmond Castle (13th C.), the ruins of a Franciscan friary founded in 1464, and a fourteenth-century Augustinian priory.
