Notes: Ashmore is the highest village in Dorset and is close to the Dorset/Wiltshire border. St Nicholas church is believed to have been originally built in the 13th century. Due to its almost ruinous state the Victorians rebuilt in 1874 and incorporated the original 13th century chancel arch.
