Notes: This wooded area is said to date back at least to the 16th century, when it is was first mapped. Further planting took place in the early 18th century by the owner of the nearby castle. Today, it is a sustainable woodland recreational amenity of almost 80 acres. One of the designated walks describes 'a stand of lovely Yew trees'.
