Notes: In the Bromyard and District local history society newsletter 5 of 1973, KA Lindsay wrote that the 'local Gospel Yew is near the lodge to Birchend on the Ledbury road. There are various Gospel yews, oaks and ashes scattered about the country, where the local parsons used to hold occasional services. At the Birchend one there was a seat where farmers used to gather in the evening for a chat'. The yew is on a track that leads west and downhill from Birchend Lodge.
