Notes: This was previously the church of Brecon Priory. It became Brecon Cathedral following the creation of the diocese in 1923. In 1837 Thomas Roscoe's Wanderings in South Wales reported the following: 'Venerable yew trees, of prodigious growth and age, claim almost a coexistant antiquity with the consecrated building, and throw an air of deep solemnity over the scene'.
