Notes: Although the present church is 13th century, it replaced a chapel built in 747. A fortress had been built here by Adam Bruce, grandson of Robert Bruce.When it was confiscated, after his final departure to England, its stones were used to build the present church. It was constructed in the form of a latin cross, on top of a hill. The yew grows on the north side.
