Notes: The Abbey was founded in 633, and went through various incarnations until the Dissolution in 1539, after which it fell into ruin. In the 19th Century the grounds became Botanical Gardens, originally laid out in the same style as the Royal Botanic Gardens in Brussels. The gardens were created in 1831 by Nathaniel Hodson. The plan shows the approximate position of the yews recorded.
