Notes: The church is set in the middle of an earthwork covering about 3 acres and surrounded by a trench. This is thought to be a Roman or Saxon fortified camp. It is the site of a lost yew. There are three living yews in the churchyard as well as four tall specimens in an adjacent property. Venerable Yews were described at this site in Saunters through Kent (1927).
