Notes: The church dates from the 13th or 14th century, with some 16th century features. A plan by Daryll J Evans for his book The Churchyard Yew of Gwent (1988) shows 16 yews. My plan from 1998 shows 15, though when I revisited in 2007 I counted 16. The plan should therefore be regarded as approximate. The most significant yew is the tree northwest of the tower. Only one of the 15 yews was female.
