Notes: The yew is found in the beer garden of the Pandy Inn in the centre of Dorstone village. It grows on the boundary bank of the property. The bank is part of the burgage system around the castle. The earliest part of the present pub building is 12th century, and while measuring the tree I found 13th and 16th century pottery. I also noted 11 other trees in the village with girths between 9ft and 11ft.
