Notes: The present church is circa 1827. The site of the previous building, of unknown age, is supposedly indicated by the position of yew trees, according to the Journal of proceedings 1917/18 vol II following a visit led by Mr J.R.B.Masefield on Thursday July 19th 1917. A fourth, set a little way back from the path also had considerable amounts of gall. To the left on entering the churchyard is an emabankment above the road on which were a cluster of about 7 much younger yews.
