Notes: The 1875 Penny Post has the following entry: 'In the churchyard of the 13th century church at Habberley, Salop (diocese of Hereford) there are two ancient yew-trees on the south side, and two modern ones on the west. I have heard it stated there that the latter were planted by a curate many years in charge, to prevent the desecration of the west wall and churchyard by ball playing'. In 1946 The Revd. Rex Jenkins described 'ancient, branches supported'. Two yews of note grow here.
