Notes: It is surprising that a succession of planning decisions have allowed a 300+ year old tree to become so hemmed in. The tree was planted in the traditional position SW of a cottage and would once have had plenty of space. Extending the cottage would have reduced some of that space, but the final indignity is that a new house and garage were allowed to be built so close to the tree.
