Notes: The parish church is set above the High Street and dates back to 1180. In 1880 Straker recorded 2 yews as follows: A tree to the west measuring 13' 3'' at 1' and a tree WSW measuring 11' 3'' at 5'. In 1994 Fookes, finding nothing in these locations, recorded them as 'gone'. It is however probable that Straker recorded the wrong bearings and that the trees recorded today are those noted in A topographical history of Surrey Vol 4 of 1850, by Edward Wedlake Brayley, who described 'two yew trees in the church-yard'.
