A 5th/6th century Romano/English stone removed from beneath the tree in 1915 is now dispayed inside the church. The yew was described in Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of Wales as 'one of the finest yew-trees in the principality'. As well as the ancient yew, some younger yews grow at the churchyard entrance.
