Notes: The church is thought to date from the 12th century, with major restoration in the 15th century and in 1868. Novelist and short story writer Theodore Francis Powys lived in Mappowder for the last 13 years of his life and was buried here in 1953. These two yews are found at either end of the north perimeter and were possibly planted at the same time.
