Notes: Peter Norton 2016: First mention of a church at this site is contained in an appendix to The Book of Llandaff around 1200. Parts of the churchyard, particularly on its west and south side, are curved. Could this perhaps indicate an even earlier use of this site as a place of worship? This is a particularly scenic site, with the church standing some 550ft above the river Wye and overlooking the pilgrims route down the Wye to Bristol, from where it continues to Santiago de Compostella in northern Spain.
