Notes: The chapel building seen today was consecrated in 1449 as a private chapel for a wealthy household. Such places of worship were usually built close to the Manor House, but that has not happened here. The tree is accessible on foot throughout the year via the Oxfordshire Way footpath. By car, it is only accessible from 1st April to 30th September on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, 2pm to 6pm. In 2013 the building was owned by Mr & Mrs Bernard Taylor.
