Notes: A National Trust woodland site with several wild yews. On some Ordnance Survey maps a spring is marked - is it possible that the ancient yew was once a marker for the spring? As well as the trees recorded here, many younger yews grew in a line between the house and the ancient male tree. This is reminiscent of the planted avenue leading to the ancient yew in Hailey Wood in Gloucestershire. Girth of several of the smaller trees was in the range 7'/9'.
