Notes: The site is on private farmland; I have been unable to establish ownership. In 2014 I was sent information, found in A History of the County of Gloucester, volume 5 (1996), that appears to confirm this as the site of a chapel that was founded some time before 1220, and thought to have been closed in 1361. It began as a hermitage belonging to the royal estate called Stowe. According to Arthur O.Cooke 'NE across the field lies the camp, perhaps the dwelling place of a prince of Gwent'.
