Notes: The yew is in the garden of The Stones, about 15 metres west of the house. The oldest part of the house has beams with the year 1635 carved into them. It would seem possible that the yew could date from this time. The yew is the only remaining tree from a row of three that once stood here, with the fragmented remains of one slightly east of this yew and another completely gone that once stood near the south end of the house. Quite tall for a Yew, it has had attention from the property owners Tarmac in the recent past. I am led to believe the site in the future is subject to being levelled for quarrying purposes.
