Notes: These are possibly the last photos taken of a living yew tree at Uffculme. They can be seen on google street map. Uffculme was built in 1891 by Richard Cadbury and an article on his time in residence there states 'An ancient yew-tree, near the coacman's lodge, had been a landmark for centuries'. In March 2016 the yew tree was felled after being judged 'over mature'. The Ancient Yew Group is concerned that the description over mature led to the destruction of this tree and hopes to see evidence that its felling was absolutely necessary. The pictures on google street map do not suggest that to be the case.
