Tree ID: 226
Yews recorded: Ancient 5m-7m
Tree girth: 671cm
Girth height: at the ground
Tree sex: female
Date of visit: 2-Aug-98
Source of earliest mention: 1867: Woolhope Naturalists' Field Club Transactions
Notes:August 1998 – Tim Hills: NNW of the church, the tall yew is hollow with a thick shell. Only the first 1′ of its bole is visible. Above that are 2′ to 3′ of closely cropped twiggy growth. A girth of about 22′ (671cm) at the ground was recorded.
2015 – Paul Wood: The larger of the two yews grows near the churchyard gates. The tree was originally measured ‘at the ground’, but the mound and twiggy growth made it impossible to remeasure. The tree seems to be well looked after.
