Notes:

August 1998 – Tim Hills: Much had been done to improve the chances of survival from the time of this first visit, when a girth of about 20′ was recorded for this large fragment. Here is a tree in the process of recovery, with fresh growth on young branches. The ground around the tree has been cleared of competing growth. The tree will be allowed to grow unimpeded for 5 years before another decision is made about how best to care for it.
2006 – photographs show that new foliage continues to grow on the young branches. Photos in 2012 and 2020 show continuing recovery.
Though its present girth is below 7m, the yew has clearly been larger girthed and is classified as Ancient 7m+.
