Notes:Tree 2: Girth of 20′ 5” at 1′ (622cm), on a steep slope, so 1′ on upper side is 4′ on lower. Pheasant pens sections leaned against the tree. The yellow fungus polyporus sulphureus (chicken of the woods) was in evidence. Its main rising branch was not of massive girth, but much angled growth from all around the bole made an elegant and fine looking tree. There was much gall. The roots spread far amongst the stones. Many branches had split from the bole and rested on the steep downwards slope. The tree shared a clearing with the smallest girthed yew in this group of 6 old yews.
