January 2006 – Peter Andrews: A battered old tree, ivy covered and with many broken branches. Measured with difficulty and a feeling that it might be larger than the girth recorded.
April 2006 – Tim Hills: The hollow side facing the road closes over at about 6′. The face visible from the top of the steep bank is covered in living wood. Probably female. Girth of 20′ 10” (635cm) at its narrowest point.
