1946 Vaughan Cornish : A girth of ‘about 15ft’ was quoted in his book.
September 2009 – Tim Hills: A girth of 18′ 11” (577cm) was recorded. The yew has a great presence in this raised churchyard.
March 2016 – Peter Norton: The veteran female has a fine fluted stem along with a flared root. There was much adventitious growth on the southwest side of the tree. The crown did not look too healthy having brown tips on much of the tree. Measured at 3′ from the ground (south side of tree) and threading the tape through the young growth, a girth of 18′ 11” (577cm) was recorded. A further two young yews grow on both the east and west sides of the burial ground.
