Notes:May 2016 – Tim Hills: On the yew’s west side is a gash revealing internal growth and decaying heartwood. On the east side is a section of several feet where the bark characteristics are clearly different from the rest of the tree. The tree has undoubtedly looked quite different in the past. There are signs of much cutting back at a height of 8’/10′. Girth was 11′ 11” (363cm) keeping the tape 1′ above the sloping ground. A girth of 11′ 9” (358cm) was recorded at 1′ and 12′ 4” (376cm) at 3′, both measurements taken above the higher ground with a horizontal tape.
