July 2018 Tim Hills: The yew has a gash on the west side with internal stems visible. This internal growth can be seen 5 metres up in a yew whose large girth is retained for a considerable height. The trunk is fluted and the bark flaky. From a height of 3 to 4 metres, numerous branches develop. A large number have also been removed over time. Girths were recorded as follows: 5.87 m at 30 cm; 5.80 m at 100 cm and 6.04 m at 130 cm. The tree was measured by Han Van Meegeran in June 2012 with a girth of 5.88 m at 130 cm.
