Notes:

1866: A girth of 14′ 7” (444.5cm) was recorded in the Woolhope Papers, as well as a description of a ‘tall, vigorous tree’.
May 2002 – Tim Hills: A leaning tree. About a third of its bole comprises dead wood, behind which can be seen internal growth. Girth of 17′ 4” (528) at the ground and 16′ 11” (516) at 5′ recorded.
2015 – Paul Wood: Measured at ground level as 17′ 11” (5.46m) and looks much as photographed in 2009 except for the new seat dedicated to Kilvert.
