Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m

Tree girth: 416cm

Girth height: at 40cm

Tree sex: male

Date of visit: 20-Mar-15

Source of earliest mention: 2015: Tim Hills

Notes:

March 2015 – Tim Hills: Two male yews grow side by side. This is by far the larger and the most northerly of the pair. It has a bole height of about 6’/7′ with many thick branches. Its most unusual feature is its root structures which run around the edge of the tree rather than stretching outwards away from it. In one of the largest churchyards I have visited, it seemed unnecessary to store old farm equipment beneath the tree. Girth of 13′ 8” (416cm) was recorded at the height of an embedded nail.
