Yews recorded: Lost

Tree girth: 356cm

Girth height: No data

Tree sex: male

Date of visit: 29-Jun-07

Source of earliest mention: 2007: Gordon Hancock

Notes:

Though of small girth this yew has all the signs of a very old tree, including complete hollowing and internal growth. The churchyard is owned by the local authority and it was they who decided to manage the tree by severe cutting back. The tree is leaning and it was thought that by allowing it to bush out a more manageable shape could be created.
In 2019, while one part of the tree showed signs of successful regrowth, a large amount of dead wood was removed.
In 2022 the tree finally succumbed.
In 2023 the story ends.
