Notes:

1866 – A girth of 17′ 6” was recorded for the Woolhope Papers.
March 1999 – Tim Hills: The tree was in need of attention. Fire or smoke had damaged the vast hollow, though its entrance was now blocked by a large rectangular piece of metal. Most of it trunk and much of its crown was hidden behind ivy. Girth of 21′ 7” (658cm) at 1′ recorded, rising to 24′ 3” (739cm) at 5′.
February 2016 – Paul Wood: The yew was measured at 1′ and a girth of 21′ 8” (660cm) was recorded. Ivy and twiggy growth have been removed revealing the bole, but also the fire damage from the past. The central hollow is hidden behind a piece of sheet metal.
