Notes:1867: Described in Woolhope as ‘split into 3 boles-though all are united together when the measure is taken-one bole is hollow and completely filled by a large mountain ash of at least a hundred years growth. The other two boles are solid and shoot up from twenty to thirty feet before separating into branches’. A girth of 18′ 6” (564cm) at 5′ was recorded in 1867.
February 2012 – Tim Hills: This is the largest girthed of the 7 yews and number 2 on the plan. One section of the tree now leans considerably, giving an exaggerated increase in girth, with 21′ 2” (645cm) at 5′ recorded.
