Notes:

In the 1875 Gardeners’ Chronicle is the following description: ‘In the small churchyard is a wonderful old Yew in vigorous growth, though of great age, having one main stem, with branches issuing from it all round, each of which has rooted into the soil and become a huge tree, with side branches spreading out below, feathering to the ground, and which covers a large space of the churchyard’. This yew feature no longer exists.
