Notes:1880: When Straker presented a paper to the Croydon Natural History Society in 1880, the yew at Chaldon was recorded as having a girth of 8′ 3” (251cm).
In 1994 the survey was repeated by Gwyneth Fookes, who recorded a girth of 11′ 3” (343cm) at 5′.
In 2013 Wim Brinkerink recorded the yew as 3.46 at 1.3m. It has a good clean bole and slight hollowing.
