Notes:October 2015 – Tim Hills: This yew is of large appearance because its bole is elongated rather than circular. Its girth is retained to a height of about 15′ before dividing into two upwardly growing main branches. What makes this tree significant is that it is half male and half female. Most of the branches on the section closest to the wall was male, while the area facing the churchyard was female. Is it possible that these were male and female trees planted close together that have successfully fused into one tree?
