Notes:I was told that these two yews were taken down in the 1950s after branches fell from them and they were regarded as a potential hazard. It was probably an over reaction and the yews were lost unnecessarily. If these two trees were still in situ Cilycwm would be one of the rare Welsh sites that could boast 4 or more ancient or veteran yews. How many more such sites once existed we may never know. The stump on the north side is seen in the first 4 photos, that on the south side in photos 5 and 6.
