Tree sex: male
Date of visit: 2-Mar-02
Source of earliest mention: 2002: Tim Hills
Notes:March 2002 – Tim Hills: The yew, which grows north of the church, is open to interpretation. Of four main areas of growth, one is centrally placed. The question this raises is whether these are peripheral remains of a tree that once filled the centre. Two of the stems are truncated at about 6’/8′. Measurement around the base of these pieces was 18′ 6”. July 2015 – Peter Norton: Northeast of the church at 51.707975, -2.040916 the yew is comprised of five main stems, all male, which further sub-divide. These emerge from a small mound and give the appearance of regrowth from a common platform. Some ivy was present. A girth of 20′ 3” at the ground was recorded.
