Notes:

1988: From Josephine Rawlins, group scout leader to the Conservation Foundation as part of their Yew Tree Campaign in the Country Living magazine: “There are several large yew trees and two in the churchyard have been measured. 1st is south of the church in the corner of the churchyard against the town wall. Girth was 8′ 6” (259cm) at 3′ and 9′(274cm) at 4′. An age of 270 years was estimated and a certificate was issued by the Conservation Foundation. The 2nd, seen in the photograph, is north of the church in a very restricted position. Girth was 10′ 6” (320cm) at 3′ and 10′ 2” (310cm) at 4′. An age of 300 years was estimated and a certificate issued by the Conservation Foundation.
Stan Lane 2007: To the north of the church is a row of four mature yew trees. The third tree from the left appeared to be the largest and at a height of 63 inches it had a girth of 11′ 6” (350 cm at 160cm). On the other side of the graveyard is a fifth yew tree. This had a girth of 13′ 0” at 5′ (396cm at 150cm). I also found six ‘topiarised’ yew bushes grouped around the church porch.
