Notes:

A letter to the Conservation Foundation dated 4/4/1992, responding to a request for information about their yew tree, has the following information: The yew overhangs the font in which Charles Lutwidge Dobson (Lewis Carroll) was baptized. The tree is believed to be over 300 years old. It certainly appears as a full grown tree of apparently the same size as it is today in a photograph of about 1860.
In spite of its small girth of only 6′ 10” (208cm) at both 3′ and 4′ and its solid nature, Meredith has estimated an age of 300 years and a certificate was issued.
