Notes:Half of the tree has fallen away, perhaps 100 or so years ago. It is still growing down the chalky bank, attached at the base. The girth of the standing part is 17′ 4” (528cm) at 3′. Girth around the base of both parts was 26′ 8” (813cm) measured near the sloping ground. This probably exaggerates its girth by at least 2′ since it has pulled apart. Both sections have internal stems and the decaying wood was charred on the inside of the tree.
