Notes:

November 2006 – Tim Hills: An exceptional fragment of less than half of the original tree. Pieces of stump a few inches high are evidence that the yew once had a girth of about 18′ and is therefore at least as old as the building. For some reason the fragment was sawn off at a height of about 8’/9′. The tree has made a startling recovery and it is to be hoped that such draconian action will not be necessary in the future. Girth of the fragment was 12′ 4” (376cm) at 1′. The 18′ measurement includes the pieces of stump that indicate the original line of the tree.
