Tree ID: 460

Yews recorded: Ancient 5m-7m

Tree girth: 579cm

Girth height: at the ground

Tree sex: unspecified

Date of visit: 5-Aug-98

Source of earliest mention: 1862: Archaeologia Cambrensis

Notes:

1998 and 2011 – Tim Hills: Tree 15 on plan, SE of the church. Four thick branches rise from a height of about 5′ on this hollowed out yew growing on a mound. Girth of 19′ at the ground was recorded in 1998.
2016 – Paul Wood: All four of the main branches appeared to be decaying in their centres and the bole had some seemingly well established twiggy growth low down on its east and south sides. A fine looking yew. I also noted a large internal stem which had almost rotted away as well as the development of some new internal growth.
