Notes:February 1984 – Reg Wheeler recorded a girth of 794cm (about 26′ 0”) at a height of 10cm. A recent bonfire in the tree was also noted with extensive burning to 20′ up the hollow trunk.
April 1998 – Tim Hills: East of the church. One of its two trunks badly damaged by fire some time in the last 25 years.
