Notes:

JC Loudon recorded a yew in 1836 girthing 16ft 6ins. A letter from the Rev. J.Kershaw in 1895 informed Lowe that that ‘it was destroyed 50 years ago by another tree falling on it. The remains of the trunk show that it must have been about the size given’.
