Tree ID: 504
Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m
Tree girth: 478cm
Girth height: not recorded
Tree sex: female
Date of visit: 26-Feb-99
Source of earliest mention: No data
Notes:February 1999 – Tim Hills: This yew grows about 30m further down the hill from the first.
2008 – Graham Bradshaw: The terrain at the back of the tree drops away sharply, but I succeeded in measuring it and think that the figure recorded is accurate to within 1ft. The main structure of the tree is a large hollow trunk, with substantial gaps at both front and back. This rises for about 4m and appears to be completely dead. Secondary growth to the left of this forms a healthy crown rising to about 10m. The horizontal saw cut was probably to remove a branch that would have hung over the road.
