Tree ID: 1924
Yews recorded: Notable
Tree girth: 396cm
Girth height: at 60cm
Tree sex: female
Date of visit: 30-Sep-04
Source of earliest mention: 1938: The King's England - Arthur Mee
Notes:September 2004 – Tim Hills: It has a main central branch and a gash reaching 1′ into an otherwise solid bole. Girth was 13′ 0” (396cm) at 2′.
2017 – Paul Wood: The yew was again measured at 2′, with a girth of 13′ 8” (417cm) recorded, an addition of 8” in 13 years. The tree’s fluted bole rises to a height of about 8′ where a central stem then produces many side branches. It was possibly hollowing. During this visit it was infested with galls, otherwise it appeared healthy with good foliage cover. A small amount of ivy had crept from the ground and into the tree.
