Lecaude

Tree ID: 5356

Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m

Tree girth: 496cm

Girth height: at 50cm

Tree sex: unspecified

Date of visit: 21-Jul-18

Source of earliest mention: 1867: Arcisse du Caumont

Notes:

Here is a completely hollow shell of a yew. There are several gaps from removed branches that have been covered in chicken wire. The trunk is very grey and flaky, though the tree is redder on its north side. A large stem on the south side has been retained, otherwise there has been almost complete branch removal at a height of about 3 m. Girth of 4.96m at 50cm was the only measurable height available, above the bulgy root and below twiggy growth. The large elder should be removed.
