Notes:When Reg Wheeler visited in March 1984 he wrote that an ‘elderly lady here remembers a magnificent old yew which was blown down many years ago – before 2nd world war – between 1930 and 1940’. This was undoubtedly one of the ‘yew trees of fine growth and of great age’ recorded in 1833.
